A retired law enforcement officer, Chuck served for 19 years, including 17 years as a certified Drug Recognition Expert (DRE), where he investigated DUI cases, drug impairment, and emerging substance abuse trends. His expertise has been featured on CBS Channel 4 News in Colorado in connection with juvenile drug abuse. Chuck’s perspective on impairment shifted during his time as a school resource officer, where he recognized that many impaired behaviors stemmed not from criminal intent, but from fear, stress, and poor decision-making under pressure. That experience reshaped his approach from enforcement alone to prevention through awareness, clarity, and accountability. Today, Chuck works with organizations to help leaders recognize impairment early and respond effectively, not to punish, but to protect people, teams, and operations. He combines real-world observation, leadership training, and practical communication strategies to help businesses maintain safe, responsible workplaces. Chuck is the founder of multiple ventures including being a recent TEDx speaker, host of two podcasts, and Amazon Best Selling Author of Mastering the Impairment Code. His work helps leaders notice what others miss, ask better questions, and intervene before issues become crises. His mission is to help organizations build cultures where responsibility and compassion work together to support both safety and performance.
